We must face the fact that the vandal’s are out there attacking our computers every day.  Multiple layers of protection and some preparation is the best we can do short of disconnecting from the Internet.  We have found that no matter which Anti-Virus software you use you are still susceptible to infection. Many trusted websites are becoming infected and just browsing to these sites will infect your computer.

When you become infected it will affect your ability to browse the Internet and download the tools we need to attempt to clean the infections.  So, we are now recommending that everyone install our favorite tool “Malwarebytes”  so that it is ready to use when you get infected.

CALL TO ACTION:  Please connect to www.Malwarebytes.org and install the free download.  Please be cautious as you select the download as there will be some banner ads with a Download button and that is not the download you want.  You may choose to install a two week trial of the Professional edition which monitors in real-time.  We have used that without detrimental effects, to continue using it costs $25 per year.

Once installed you can have Malwarebytes download updates and run a quick scan.  It is recommended that you scan your computer once a week or so and have it remove any infections.

With this installed it will help us to clean your system or at least have a chance to get it cleaned.  Unfortunately at times reinstalling Windows and applications or reinstalling an image backup will be needed.  We highly recommend having image backup of all critical workstation computers for just this use.  Please use the “Request More Information” button below if you would like help with image backup.
