Parsec Computer Corp and spun off its Sage business to DSD Business Systems, Inc.  The merger of Parsec and DSD provides a much larger base of expertise to provide more solutions to you and still offer you the same support you have received for years from Parsec.  John, Judah and Bob are still providing solutions to your needs. Sage MAS90 Business Care Support Plans

Sage has greatly increased their value proposition in regards to providing end-user technical support.  We now are recommending most clients to subscribe to either the Silver or Gold plans and use Parsec support services to cover the more personalized needs you may have and the items not covered under these technical support packages.  Parsec used to receive unlimited cases that we could use on your behalf but that has been drastically cut.  We now would need to use your purchased cases from the plans to assist you or sell you an individual case when needed.

While we plan to continue to offer support, we are focusing more on providing solutions, training and development to allow you to get more business value from your MAS90 investments.  Partnering with Sage on the “break-fix” software support provides you with direct access to MAS90 engineers who we commonly reference in resolving errors.  We will still be handling the needs that Sage Business Care does not cover at hourly support rates and terms.

Cost for the Business Care plans depends on the valuation of your software.  The current maintenance plan most of our clients have is the Bronze plan which does not include technical support cases.  Parsec provided technical support on your behalf can use your support cases – with only a Bronze plan you would need to purchase a support case from Parsec for $150 but only if we need to contact Sage on your behalf, we would charge for actual time as the case charge is paid to Sage.

When your annual renewal comes due your costs and options will be shown, please contact us and together we can determine what is best for you.

For many smaller accounts the Silver plan may be a very good option, a modest 11% premium will give you 5 support cases per year.  If you have a complex system and are using Parsec for many support cases each year then a Gold plan may provide cost savings.  Make sure to understand that Sage will not provide end-user training and non-technical support under these plans nor will they install updates.  Parsec would still be your source for these services.

Anytime Learning Web Based Training. These online courses that are included in the Gold Sage Business Care Plan are also available to Bronze and Silver plan clients for a fee. These courses have significant value and are well done. These courses will not tell you specifically how to apply MAS 90/200 to your unique or nonstandard business processes; however, they will make sure you fully understand the product and all its features so you can best apply MAS 90/200 to your business.
