We talk about mobile communications with clients all the time and one of the normal replies is that they want to get away when they are away.  Our response to this is that mobile solutions allow you to get away more often because you can still manage your business.  Also, think of the time you can turn productive that you now spend waiting on something! 

Studies show that the average business person spends 42-56 minutes every day waiting on something outside the office.  Stuck in traffic, waiting on lunch, waiting for a meeting to start.  That's almost 200 hours per year that could be spent being productive! 

With the use of my Palm Treo 700w which runs Windows Mobile, Outlook, Word and Excel I don't have to spend 20 minutes answering and cleaning up e-mail when I return to the office - it is already done!   I can open attached Word documents or access my files from the office if I forgot to bring the right one along.

With Internet Explorer I can browse the Internet at DSL speeds and this helps me find infomation easily.  We have also used Internet browsing to allow all of us at Parsec to manage our dispatch system, enter time billing and keep the office informed of where we are, where we have been and where we are going.
