Security Update for all users effecting your Windows computers
NOTE: If you have a Fortigate Firewall from Parsec the Acrobat vulnerability will be protected within a few days. You may still update and should do so on laptops or at home. Thank you Fortigate!
You may have heard in the news that a new vulnerability has been found in Adobe Flash Player that almost everyone has installed. There is also a vulnerability in Adobe Acrobat and Reader that is known to have some threats in the wild that could allow your computer to be compromised.
Adobe has not released patches for these vulnerabilities and may not until March 11, 2009. I recommend you follow the instructions from Adobe here. Also, be somewhat cautious opening PDF attachments in e-mail or on websites that you may not trust. You should also update your Adobe Reader to version 9 as this will be the first one to be patched. This is free from Adobe - click here.
As for the Flash player vulnerability - we are waiting on information from Adobe. Fortigate is working on a signature for this now.
We will notify you when more information or patches are available.
Best regards,
Parsec Security Team
